Your request
We check the symbol against UniProt when you send this,
so you will be told straight away if it is not a human protein.
What happens next
- Your request is recorded and counted. How many
people have asked for a gene, and which applications they need, is
one of the things we weigh when deciding what to run next.
- We cannot promise to take it on. Characterising one
gene properly means knockout cell lines, every commercial antibody
for it, and four applications' worth of bench work — so what gets
done is limited by funding and capacity, not by interest.
- If you have a funding route, tell us. That is the
thing most likely to turn a nomination into work — tick the box
above, or email
onlygoodantibodies@gmail.com.
- Modification-specific antibodies are out of scope.
Our results rest on knockout controls, and a knockout removes the
whole protein — so it cannot show whether an antibody is specific
for a phosphorylated or otherwise modified form.
